A weekend in the country package, including a slow food picnic and meal
Silly is reputed for its brewery and its slow food products, and it is also famed for its gorgeous rolling countryside, its rural heritage and its woods, which are amongst the most attractive in the region! The River Sille, a tributary of the River Dendre, runs through the local State-owned forest, a 300-hectare (740-acre) beech grove.
The Silly Tourist Office is Bike Welcome certified and will organise a 20-km (12½-mile) bike outing for you, and also a picnic featuring slow food products. You will go past several producers who adhere to the principles of the slow food movement and your route will take you close to several convivial picnic areas. In the evening, you have a booking at “La Clef Deschamps”, a bed and breakfast which serves evening meals which people really love. “La Clef Deschamps” is a peaceful and welcoming setting for a getaway for two, deep in the country. Also take advantage of your break in Silly to visit MaquiStory, which retraces the brave acts and the history of the local resistance movement during World War II.
