INTERSECTIONS, Tournai's contemporary art triennale
When contemporary art meets architectural and cultural art, you get an unprecedented and original project right in the heart of Tournai!
Led by three art historians "INTERSECTIONS, triennale d'art contemporain" follows a pedestrian route via 10 iconic locations in the city centre, and will be complemented by a wide range of activities throughout the summer (including talks, guided tours, workshops and activities for children). Two Belgian artists have come forward to take part in this unprecedented project: Dany Danino (painter, illustrator, engraver and installation artist) and Daniel Locus (photographer and video maker). Each of the works of art shown has a direct link with its location.
This first event of its kind will take place in the following 10 locations: the Museum of Fine Art; the Museum of Natural History and Vivarium; the Museum of Military History; the Museum of Folklore and Imagination, as well as a piece of urban art on the outside wall of this museum; the TAMAT - Centre for Tapestry, Wall Arts and Textile Arts; the belfry; the Halle aux Draps; Saint-Jacques church; and the Tourist Information Office. The latter will be the starting point for the INTERSECTIONS route, as well as one of the exhibition venues (in its stunning medieval cellars).
