Some twenty British cemeteries with their very simple headstones pay a moving tribute to the soldiers who died for freedom during the Great War. They are spread across the countryside and the woods of Ploegsteert, close to the Memorial: Toronto Avenue Cemetery, Rifle House Cemetery, Prowse Point Cemetery... Numerous pilgrims from all over the world come and pay their respects, leaving a testimonial in the registers available at the entrance of each of these cemeteries.
